I don’t know. He has an extra hateful glare–even for that alone. I am leaning on the feelings from the memories coming to the surface. IOW, he recognizes Korrin and all the yucky childhood feelings return, but he doesn’t realize what is going on. Repressed memories can work that way. You really do remember everything, but stuff stays filed until you are heavily triggered or equipped to deal with it. It was that way for me at least.

I agree. If we think back to page 193, Feral shows a similar mark. I think Mal must have convinced him to get one. Also, we have seen Yuen wearing those bracelets. What confuses me, though, is that Feral’s is on his right hand (again 193) but this appears to be a left hand, like Mal’s. (268) On this page however, Mal does not have bracelets on these. What I suspect is 1. The scar only needs to be made on one hand, but the glowing symbol can appear on both (after all, Feral wears two gloves, and although this could be just to seem less conspicuous, he also is shown to have two bandages. (152) 2. Maybe Feral got the scars on both of his hands. He seems to have not the best control over darker magic, as Visrael’s affected him for quite a while. (215) In addition, we should could keep in mind that Feral is a bounty hunter. That takes some ambition, and I wouldn’t put it out of the possibility that Yuen got maybe a little obsessive with the new power and got two. He may have been fueled by revenge for his parents’ deaths. 3. Yuen could have given the bracelets to Mal. This seems a little odd, as Yuen’s bracelet was supposedly what tied him to his girlfriend, considering they had the same one. (265) This might suggest that the bracelet was still sentimental -he still loved the girl- but for some reason he could not continue wearing it. This leads me to believe that Feral’s memory loss may not have been so spontaneous. I’m still up in the air about the throat though, though that may have happened somewhere between Feral’s memory loss, and meeting Holland, but not at the same time. (152)
On a different note, did anyone notice the text on page 266, “You shouldn’t make promises you can’t keep, Yuen,” is eerily similar to page 292, “You shouldn’t make promises you can’t keep, Holland?” If my earlier suspicion is right, and Feral lost his memory by choice, than this promise of returning to his girlfriend would be consciously broken. Will Holland’s promise be consciously broken as well? Surely Holland wouldn’t betray Meela, or turn against her, but who knows if Jyaku will change his mind about keeping Meela’s identity secret from Feral, especially as Jyaku says it could be bad for Feral’s ‘condition’. (261) Would this ‘condition’ have to do with the symbols as well as Feral’s past? Feral seems to maybe be starting to recognize people from his past. (298) Maybe Jyaku has more to do with Feral’s mysterious silence and memory loss than we thought… And if Jyaku does not want past relationships to trigger Feral’s memory (perhaps a reason Feral possibly gave away the bracelet) that could be a reason Jyaku stays hidden. Jyaku seems awfully interested in Feral (261) I highly doubt Jyaku was that interested in Meela, at least before his discovery of what she is. (256)

So, two bracelets on this arm: the thicker zig-zag one is the same that Yuen and Eylinae had in the previous dream. And then those beads. hmmmmmm now where have we seen beads similar to this? Mal doesn’t wear them, Eylinae doesn’t wear them (I checked). I wonder how long has passed since the previous dream sequence? so why is he now wearing a bracelet that looks similar to Meela’s? grrrrr of course the ladies would leave us on a cliffhanger like this! :( but happy christmas to y’all!

People of this comic change what jewelry they wear as much as they do in real life, and many people can have similar pieces of jewelry (just like real life). Jewelry doesn’t correlate with specific people, but more with a culture, race, or tribe of this world. Sorry to be the party pooper, but the hand belongs to Mal most likely since we saw in the previous flashback end that he had that demonic looking mark on his left hand.

Has anyone thought about the fact that Feral might know Korin from bounty hunting? I mean we’re almoost possitive Korin is a bounty hunter, he pretty much said it, and he’s going after Meela and her family since it’s his ‘job’ and Meela’s got a bounty on her head, so did the rest of her family. I’m sure bounty hunter’s run into each sometimes, going after the same kill, or someone in the same town.

Euhm…That comment, “i know i should’ve killed that pup” Did anyone think about the dream scene where Korin kills Yuens mother and tries to kill him but let him escape? THAT has to be it. He sees Feral, recognizes him because he hated him for ruining his changes with the mother. That is probably why he syas he should’ve killed him. He is suprised to see Yuen/Feral alive after all this time because he thought the little pup that escaped him would’ve died on his own.

Its been acknowledged as a possibility, yes–although personally I’d say that, if he was talking about Feral, he would have said “Should’ve killed YOU right away.” I think that Feral interpreted it as him talking about Meela regardless.
Korin could have been talking to himself, though, certainly, and maybe he’s less upset about the mother thing and more because Yuen’s a part of his past which he left behind to be a bounty hunter. <.<

I think when he said he should have killed her a long time ago, he means when he killed Meela’s brother. Also, another thing popped into my head: he could mean Feral should have got rid of her or got the bounty off of her a long time ago.

For my part, I'm 100% certain that the final panel shows Mal's hand as he attempts to control (or is straight-up losing control of) his "gift") even though he only just received it (it's still bandaged). Yay for more dream sequences! I do look forward to the scene when Meela wakes up and realizes she's back with Feral and Holland, though. So exciting! :D

On a different note, did anyone notice the text on page 266, “You shouldn’t make promises you can’t keep, Yuen,” is eerily similar to page 292, “You shouldn’t make promises you can’t keep, Holland?” If my earlier suspicion is right, and Feral lost his memory by choice, than this promise of returning to his girlfriend would be consciously broken. Will Holland’s promise be consciously broken as well? Surely Holland wouldn’t betray Meela, or turn against her, but who knows if Jyaku will change his mind about keeping Meela’s identity secret from Feral, especially as Jyaku says it could be bad for Feral’s ‘condition’. (261) Would this ‘condition’ have to do with the symbols as well as Feral’s past? Feral seems to maybe be starting to recognize people from his past. (298) Maybe Jyaku has more to do with Feral’s mysterious silence and memory loss than we thought… And if Jyaku does not want past relationships to trigger Feral’s memory (perhaps a reason Feral possibly gave away the bracelet) that could be a reason Jyaku stays hidden. Jyaku seems awfully interested in Feral (261) I highly doubt Jyaku was that interested in Meela, at least before his discovery of what she is. (256) I am EXTREMELY impressed if anyone read this far as to what I just wrote XD.

wow. this was the page that was up when i first started this comic! i cant believe it has been four years. as the first comic that i ever read which led into my extreme passion and addiction to comics this will forever hold a place in my heart :)
